Did anyones has some problems with some voices?
My case is:
execute tomtom
configure it
choose a voice (romanian in my case from the voices pack for TT6, link that was posted on this site)

Now:
the voice works great, as in TT5 on palm

But:
I close TT and restart it.
It doesn't start again, i have only the tomtom logo on screen.
If I erase the tomtom config file, it starts working again, but needs reconfigure.

I mention that I do not have this problem with a standard english voice, even with an extra voice (carichatual) works well.

Do you know if it is a tomtom problem, or the voice is not good for this version?
Thanks! :)

Hi
I had simmilar problem with my friends pda (qtek). It seems that TT makes a voice map (empty) on your device, not that one in the sd card. Locate voices map on your device and copy voices into that map. There are diferent solutions to this problem if you look around the forums. :)

Where can I find standard English voices, American English preferred?

dataxx.chk contains the voice files.
xx = 04 and 05 are English UK files
xx = 07 , 08, 09 are English US files
If you cant find it I will upload it to Rapidshare

Hi Sir,

the tomtom v6.02 build 7980 have a trouble when discovery the external bluetooth antenna on my Qtek 9000 with Windows Mobile 5, rom version 2.50.15(this is a beta release but work fine). I have re-copied the old data.chk, from cab file, and navigator.exe of the version 6.020(7910) by ifalleni and now the discovery of my antenna work fine, at the first time! :D

For me the previous build 7910 work better!

Regards

Excusme my bad bad English!

However, you have to go into the TT preferences screen
"Manage POIs" -> "Warn when near POI"
and select each speedcam type in turn
select NO for "... Remove warning?" Then select distance
Then uncheck box for "Warn if POI is on route" then done
repeat for all other speedcams you have custom voice for.
You can tell if it sees your custom .ogg voice file correctly because it won't allow you to select one of the default sounds (which are in data.chk)

Once you done all this you don't need to do it again when the speedcam update appears, so long as you keep the filenames the same and just overwrite them.

This config appears to be then kept within map.cfg along with the favourites, so maybe a good idea to back this up.

Hi VROOMFONDEL and MERCANARY could you please help? or anyone else?

I have a fully working version which was patched using the data.chk and navigator.exe from one of the ones on here. Im reluctant to do a new install as there as so many different ones on this post. I want to get the custom voices working for speed cameras could you please help guide me? Have I got something missing?

My version is 6.020 (7980) UK and Ireland v660.1199 Do I need the newer UK map maybe (1219)?

Thanks in advance.

Downgrade to 7910, only the actual speed appear on the 7980, no more maximum speed. Like on the bottom right 125/130kmh.

This is sthe most important feature for me.

errmm, I'm using 6.020 (7980) with map WE_V660.1219 and it DOES show the max speed. At least where the map has max speed info.
e.g. I just drove on M3 in UK and it showed 69/70 (miles per hour) or 104/113 if I set units to kilometres (70 mph is max speed on UK motorways). Then it showed 45/50 correctly on the next dual-carriageway.

STOECHIO, I think your problem may be because you have the wrong map version.

Version 1223 is for TomTom V5 and V6 but does NOT include max Speeds.
Version 1219 is for TomTom V6 and does include the max speeds.

The "Guam" map must be copied on SD card at root level.

That helped make it work on my HTC Magician. Thank you!

I am amazed that such simple yet so necessary instruction is nowhere to be found in basic releases like Ifaleni's or Mercenary's. It would avoid headaches to many people, although I must say the work is immensely great. Thanks a lot!

Its noted in mine, infact it actually done for you! But you need to remember that the releases on this forum are for the members of the forum who we expect to have read the forum! The Autorun.exe fix has been mentioned in just about every Tomtom release thread on here, so we assume everyone knows about it now!
