Didn't work. I followed the readme and installed the 5.2 cab only, made the TomTom dir. in My Documents with the currentmap.dat, then copied over the new exe. Next, I installed the California.cab. and it installed into the My Documents folder. I loaded up TomTom and it said no maps found. Current map.dat btw is still 0bytes.

I waa about to request. Respected Escaps75, can you upload exact instructions of installation for tt5-best rar file. It would be of great help. Thanks again. I am also looking for full USA maps for this newer version. See if you can provide them.

yes, the currentmap.dat file is blank, you need to edit it to point to maps. Mine is :
\SD Card\Tomtom Canada\

I placed the edited currentmap.dat on PPC in My documents\Tomtom folder. I created a folder on SDcard called Tomtom Canada and copied map there. (As I said, it didn't work when I placed them on Sdcard\my documents\tomtom canada folder.)
My voices installed in root of sd card under Voices.

I replaced the navigator.exe in PPC \program files\navigator with the cracked one.

I hope I didn't forget anything here, but mine is working just fine. I still need to grab some more maps though.

I just followed escape75's latest instructions posted prior here. His Guide worked for me.

I didn't have to edit my file at all, weird!
Just placed the files in subdirectories on my SD Card.

I will be posting entire maps of USA - unless there's objections?

Ok I figured it out

You have to place the files in a subdirectory on the SD Card, and
not in another directory. By default it puts them in My Documents
which doesn't work unless you edit the CurrentMap.dat file.

You don't have to edit anything if you just make subdirectories.
Also the maps have to be v5.67+ to work.

That's it.

I got a Globalsat BT338 and it works fine, but I prbly would have gotten the Holux had I known. Seems as though it can also connect to a PDA without Bluetooth?

Added them into mini-sd. latest software yet to be downloaded. Mine currently is 5.000 (4890) but 566 and 567 both versions of maps are working.
