is there any way to download the maps from the forum and then copy them to the SD card , instead of downloading from the phone and the Tomtom app ?

Don't you have to be online.

OBB file: android/obb/com.tomtom.gplay.navapp

Do i have to put the OBB file on the internal memory of the device or the external microSD-card?

I've already installed and used Tomtom_Go_Navigazione_e_Traffico_v1.16.1_Build_2077_Patched_By_DFoX_URET, it works just fine except it does not offer the download of the Israel card. Does this latest version propose it?

But TomTom Go still downloads old versions (1000) and no notification about map update.

It can take up to 2 weeks after new maps are released before they are downloadable for android devices.

What's new for- GO 40, GO 50, GO 51, GO 60, GO 61, GO 400, GO 500, GO 600, GO 510, GO 610, Rider 410, Rider 400, Rider 40, GO 5000, GO 6000, GO 5100, GO 6100, Trucker 5000, Trucker 6000, START 40, START 50, START 60, Start 42, Start 52, Start 62, VIA 52, VIA 62, GO 520 Wi-Fi, GO 620 Wi-Fi, GO 5200 Wi-Fi, GO 6200 Wi-Fi, GO PROFESSIONAL, VIA 53

Latam Map will also include the countries: Suriname. Belize, Guyana (coverage: connecting roads)

World maps will now cover following countries (offered as separate maps): Algeria, Egypt, Ecuador, Tunisia, Venezuela, Kazakhstan.

Note: The Europe map for Uconnect device serial number starting with -TP won't be part of this release. It will be released later on (Date not confirmed).

Well one small issue now, each time I close app and re-open all recent searches and locations are not saved.. not big issue but a ny fix for this??
