Because the MAJORITY of skins is on 320_240 is not necessary to convert to that resolution. To convert to 480_272 is possible (but you need to do manually some corrections) -I do that for Choup skin and work.

After conversion test the skin. If error message appear you can locate the layer that cause this- if is of minor importance you can inactivate it otherwise try to fix it from analogy with working skin. The frequent error is at placement of buttons and position of buttons- this is the easiest to repair.

and who stop you? :) but I think that alpha version of the program can only enlarge. I try it otherwise.

LE it seems that can ONLY enlarge JUST from 320_240 to other resolution...

Odin88 wrote:Hi All!

I've tried and works if you have time to debug and correct some mistake that this program generates...

first of all, delete the file data.zip and content of data folder. Than copy the corrected 8.2 data and extract it to data folder as well. The program is in Italian but quiet simple. under x and y you have to write the resolution you want, then click OK, after you can select that you want to create new data.zip or not (radio buttons: "Damni anche il nouvo data.zip da sostiture" = yes, "No grazie, ho gia il data.zip SKiGO" = no). Then click on the big folder icon with SKIN sign, select the skin you want to convert. Then click on Converti button and the procedure begins. After everything finishes you'll see 2 or 3 buttons (depends on your data.zip selection), with the first button you can save your new data.zip, with the second you can save the converted skin and with the third you can save a new sys.txt with proper resolution settings.

I hope this helps... :) I've started to work on the source code but it needs time... :) So please be patient... :)

Odin88... Any news ???

All times taht I do the conversion from 320_240 to 400_200 (Omnia resolution) I have the same error when the iGO8 start (on the Mainscreen load moment):

FFUI error - Parse error [</layer>expected]

Any idea to solve?

Thx.

Try to use a text editor (NotePad++ 5.1.2) and find any <layer> </layer> missing in *.ini files.
I know, it's a hard work, but I think it worths if you really need it.

Well, try my iGoSkinWizard instead: it's in English, it supports any resolution, and lets you write your own replacement rules. Feedback welcome, especially from skinners who know what they are doing and find something missing in the replacement rules I came up with.

I don't know much about skinning, so I could definitely use some help.

But there is a structural or logical difference between data.zip or skins versions as said here:
