1) Run patcher to crack application.
2) Copy license files (note: paths given are examples for Windows 7, paths on other systems may vary):

• copy *.res files to both of:
  C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Memory-Map-License\
  C:\ProgramData\Memory-Map-License\
• copy *.lic files to both of:
  C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Memory-Map-License\<deviceid>\
  C:\ProgramData\Memory-Map-License\<deviceid>\

3) Enjoy!

This works with my memory map maps. Everything is showing as licensed and working.

Patcher shows up on virustotal

but as the previous patcher did as well I ran it.

I used a patch creation tool instead of writing my own patcher, the same tool has probably been used for something dodgy in the past which the virus scanner is mistaking it for. Perhaps I should have just supplied the patched files for you to replace the originals with (or I could have written my own patcher - not a lot of effort but I couldn't be bothered). Anyway, I haven't put anything dodgy in the patcher.

Actually, looking at your virus total results it doesn't really show anything to worry about anyway - mostly things like "generic patcher".

The original crack had the same on virustotal, but was a false positive also. Thats MMTracker off my phone now.

installer fails for me on both win 7 and xp says error code 2502 and 2503

I assume you mean a crack for a previous version? Don't know anything about that, this is my first for MM (independently cracked, btw), but the patch maker I used was quite nice so I can imagine plenty of others have used it before. That said I probably won't use it again, to avoid confusion for users if their scanner doesn't like it.

Pass, sorry. The installer is original, untouched, maybe some help on the MM website in their knowledge base??? Installed on W7/64 and XP/32 alright myself, so can't imagine what the issue might be.

Working fine on my Win7, Dare I say the licence isn't installed in the correct folder, also try installing as administrator.

yep tried as admin on netbook win 7.... and have re added licence but still no joy! on pc xp

lohtse is correct i have installed in xp pro as well
the following are the licenses showing

Basic GPS Interface : No license
Professional Features : No License
Printing : Full license
Import Maps : Full license
Classic Map Compatibilty : Full license

Works a treat on Win 7 - Thanks Tom21 - Its been a long wait since 5.1.3

Install note:
After you install MM-v5.4.2, and run patcher
Run the Memory map software to create folders:
C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Memory-Map-License\
C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Memory-Map-License\<deviceid>\

Then copy in the *.res & *.lic as described above overwriting any originals.

Professional Features : No License

Was MM already installed or was this a clean machine? I think already installed otherwise where did the Pro license info come from? If not a clean install I suspect there are some old license files around somewhere (especially the .res file for GPS, I suspect). Try searching the PC, I'm pretty sure there'll be another copy hanging around somewhere that needs overwriting.

What are the pro features, btw? Didn't know there was still a pro version.

I downloaded New Zealand 50k maps (topo50 North island) and south island.

These create 2 new res files

0200002D.res
0200002E.res

but no lic files.

Files come back as not licensed.

Any ideas?

Erm, do you actually have a license for these maps?
