Hi!

I have never had problems converting PDF to MOBI except with this book: https://rapidgator.net/file/39206883/WWW.rar.html

In every page of the PDF there are two pages from the book. So, how can I convert this in a decent MOBI?

Thanks!! :)

Important: The hard drive where I kept my e-books has died. I'm afraid I won't be able to post any re-up. I'm really sorry!! :(

The best way I have found to convert these annoying double-page files is PDFtoEPUB, a program by DNAML Software. You can convert to mobi later. I did this one for you, but if it needs cleaning you'll have to do it yourself ;-)

PDFtoEPUB takes care of the annoying headers and footers with name of author and such.

Of course. That is, if you want to read the author's name and page number and title of book in every page.

I went DNAML to check out the recommendation, and PDFtoEPUB is free right now too. They apparently are giving away 20,000 copies, so no idea how long it will be available.

lol -- no, I was good, I gave my real occupation. :-)

I'm also checking out the sale they have going on the Desktop Author software as I create a number of ebooks a year for work, with one coming up next month. Has anyone used Desktop Author? My current system works, but its somewhat clunky and involves bouncing between a number of different softwares.

Hi,

I haven't bothered with converter software so long I've forgotten most of them. Used to have Calibre but then my PC crashed and all data was lost. Now I use http://www.online-convert.com/ I downloaded your file and converted .pdf to .mobi and it checked out fine, both on Kindle reader and on Mobipocket reader.

I love calibre too -- it's great for organizing books and converting between epub, mobi, lit, fb2 and lord knows what else, but I'm really glad Merry shared the information about PDFtoEPUB. The latter is significantly more intuitive than Calibre in removing page headers and footers, dealing with columns and so forth. After all the ephemera is gone, I can import the new epub into calibre with less cleanup required in Sigil. It makes your life a lot easier if you have a large book or a bunch of PDFs to deal with. It also, btw, converts to mobi, but since I read in epub, I don't know if its mobi files are as clean as its epubs.

Run the stock .PDF file through PDFtoEPUB - to remove all the "Junk" headers and footers.

Open the resulting EPUB in Sigil - to correct all the rest of the problems.

Run the edited EPUB from Sigil through Calibre - to convert to MOBI (or whatever your preferred format happens to be).

Note: All these programs are free!
