...sometimes we have series with dozens of books in the respective categories, and sometimes they are in "Collections". Do you care to explain, please?![]()
This post has over 40 books, shouldn't it be in Collections?
why is this post in collections? there's only 3 books![]()
A collection is generally considered a large number of books in one post. However...
- *Not all posts with a large number of books in them are Collections, and
*Not all posts in Collections include a large number of books.
When dealing with collections, the possibility to find a single author using the search function is as much a determining factor as the total number of books in the post. Some guidelines to help understand Collections:
1. Posts that must be considered Collections:
-Large number of books by Various Authors, who cannot be found in search. Example: "Megapack by Various".
-Small number of books by Various Authors, who cannot be found in search. Example: "Harlequin Blaze".
-Large or small number of books by the same author if the post includes a mixture of series and standalone books.
-Large or small number of books by the same author if the post includes a mixture of Fiction and Non-Fiction books.
2. Posts that do not necessarily constitute a Collection:
-Large number of standalone books by one author who can be easily found in search.
-Large number of books in a series by one author who can be easily found in search.
It might be useful to remember that a few books by a favourite author in a post to which we've kept adding books throughout the years does not magically become a collection when it reaches the number 20. It should still be "21 Books by (Author)", and remain in the category where it started.
NOTE: This post is an addendum to and expands on the information provided in the Posting Rules and Guidelines on how to post Fiction books.
