Yes ... you just need a Bluetooth Gps receiver , Tomtom launch automatically the bluetooth connection and put it of when you quit the navigation

Maybe i shall buy such a bluetooth receiver, but what i meant was, if it also works without any gps receiver (so no location locater) just type in a route from => to, like route 66 also works without a gps receiver, but just says a route to take from one point to the other without a tracker.

Yes it can works without a gps receiver and make a route planning from A to B

I was wondering if there are maps for California, and if the tomtom6 maps(ppc) will work on this. Wanted to put tomtom or Route66 on my gf's Black Jack II. Also if anyone knows, will Route66 detect internal GPS, since this tomtom wont?

I havent figured out how to get TT6 maps to work with TT5 yet. It might be possible, not sure. I have a BJ2 and this TT5 detects the internal gps fine. You just need to unlock it. By default the internal gps is locked to only activate for the built in telenav garbage. Grab the unlock cab file here: http://www.myblackjack2.com/category/hacks-and-mods/

Now if i could just find WI,MI,MN maps for TT5 i'd be thrilled.
