PIease help; I'm virtually computer illiterate, but I would like to request a book. I understand that if I am lucky enough that someone posts it, I click on 'donate WRZ$' but in which screen? And I have to post a 'paid' message, but where do I do that? I've read the FAQ, but they don't tell you in which screen to even make a query, so I hope this plea is in the correct place.
I have only once tried any interaction on mobilism, but I was smacked down so quickly for making an error that I have never tried again.

You click on donate WRZ$ under the name of the person you are going to donate to and a window will pop up. You post the paid message on the same thread as the one where you requested the book. Hope that helps

iheartbooks77 wrote:ETA: Thanks for replying Trev1950. albertine111, I see that you already made a request for a book, once the request is fulfilled. You'll see the users reply to your request to the left of the screen under the username you'll see [Donate WRZ$] click on that and a small window should appear. Then fill in the amount, don't forget to leave a note letting the user know what book you are paying for. Once that is done, reply to your request something like 'reward donated, request filled'. It's all explained here: What to do after a request is fulfilled? :)

When I access a category of books in a list format, is there anyway to quickly see which ones I have previously viewed or downloaded? Thanks, I am new to this.

Fizban wrote:It all depends on which version of the forum software you are using: Classic or Mobilism 2.0.

In Classic mode, once you've actually viewed a topic, the text color will change, as you can see below:

Also, note the "Mark Topics Read" area? If you want to mark everything in that forum as read, click that link and then you'll see the following:

Image

Now all of the checkmarks are gone, letting you know you have cleared that forum.

In Mobilism 2.0, you will see the same text color change when you have visited a topic:

However, to mark all as read, you need to go to the top of the page and choose that option from the setup dropdown:

And after choosing it, now the red icons to the side are blue instead, letting you know you've cleared that forum:

Can I upload Cross-Stitch magazines and books? Also, what about just the cross stitch patterns? I would consider these books, but I understand that some people only consider them pamphlets of leaflets. Hopefully, you understand what I mean. The patterns come usually in a full color "book" with a photo of the finished project. Sometimes, it's only one project and often it's several different cross stitch projects. These can be anywhere from about 4 pages up to 20+ pages.

Are these also OK or do you just allow books and magazines? Would they all go in this section?

Thank you in advance!
iheartbooks77 wrote:All Cross-Stitch magazines and books are allowed unless they are already posted. Pamphlets are not allowed, but if the patterns are gathered into one file in a good quality book they should be fine.

Is there a section for Top Picks, etc?

Never-mind, my preference was set to classic, changed it, and now I can see Top Books, Top Apps etc.

Is it possible to ask uploaders not to use sites like dailyuploads (which tells me i am using Adblocker even when i disable it) and Hulkload (there is an utterly incomprehensible link to using Hulkload) and worst of all DoUploads, which just doesn't do anything except open porn pages.
many thanks

What we can do is require that all links be direct ones - no URL shorteners or re-directs that could cause problems or delays, no links to hosts that require surveys or registration in order to download, etc. We also offer the option of a service with a premium downloader that avoids all of the issues with the various filehosts and we do require that all of our Major Ebook Releasers (purple names) provide at least one premium downloader link.

Lastly, in addition to this Help Desk thread, we have a constantly updated topic with information on how to properly download from each filehost here so people don't end up with exe files and threats of viruses.

We do empathize with users who have difficulties, but there really is no way to resolve every issue for both uploaders and downloaders that will satisfy everyone involved. The best we can do is to minimize as many issues as we can, which we feel we have done with the rules and options we have in place currently.

Hi I hope I can ask this here..

I downloaded a comic in .epub format and it opens on both my epub and cbr reader but the problem is : on my epub reader I can't zoom the page, or it gets zoomed but the image remains the same.fixed, unmoved.

in the cbr reader it zooms in but the letters become very blurry and I realized the epub comics can't be converted to cbr. so, any solution?

my epub reader is FB Reader and the cbr reader is CDisplayEx

edit: ??????????? anyone

Fizban, I'm always recommending this service to newcomers. I wonder if Mobilism people realise that a free trial is available. Once tried, the Premium Downloader will be seen to be worth every cent.

What are we supposed to do if they don't provide a direct link (see https://forum.mobilism.org/viewtopic.ph ... ANGLEY%3A_)? I've contacted OPs before about this and they act like they don't know what I am talking about. I find that my releases are being policed pretty carefully by the moderators -- can't the filehosts be policed too?

I believe you mean links supported by the Premium downloader, not direct links. As per the General Site Rules, all links must be direct to filehosts, and moderators check (what you call "police") all releases carefully to make sure that the links offered are direct.

If you check the eBook Section Rules, you will notice that supported links are only mandatory in releases posted by MERs (Major Releasers) and Moderators, which makes for a significant proportion of all releases. Many other posters use supported links, only for them it is not mandatory. We are currently working to provide support for more filehosts, just waiting for them to make the necessary adjustments. In the meantime, and to answer your question, non-supported links will have to be used manually.

The Premium Downloader is a utility not available (http://mblservices.org/amember/downloader/manual/) to those of us who more recently became premium members. Instead we have to rely on the blue arrows that appear next to the links. I guess these are "supported" links? Fine, thanks for explaining the terminology.

I'm still interested in an answer to my question, though. Here is another title -- uploaded by an MER -- without any links that have blue arrows: (Link removed)

So should I contact the MER and ask them to provide a supported link?

Please visit the thread about the Premium downloader to keep yourself informed. Suprafiles was having a problem so it was removed from the list of supported filehosts after the release you mention was posted. The host has fixed the problem so it has been added back, no need for you to contact the OP. Again, please find the latest news here: viewtopic.php?p=5119176#5119176

For any other questions regarding the Premium downloader, please check the FAQ topic or send a PM to the admin in charge, Disk4mat.

Thanks and Happy Holidays.
