Game: Dead Trigger v1.9.5
Developer: MADFINGER Games
Category: Action, First Person Shooter
Price: N/A
IAP: $0.99 - $12.99

Dead Trigger is an FPS game developed and published by MADFINGER Games. It follows a basic idea - it's the zombie apocalypse, and you're doing your best to survive and help out when you can. The game play is fairly simplistic - you pick one of multiple missions, you go in and complete an objective, while killing as many zombies as you can. The objectives can be one of multiple types:

  • Kill a certain number of zombies.
  • Get a package (or multiple) and bring it to a certain location (or different locations).
  • Guard an area from zombies (or multiple areas at the same time).
  • Survive for a certain amount of time.

The missions can be story (which isn't something really deep and detailed, so I'll skip commenting on it) related or just "out there" for you to earn some extra cash for items, upgrades and level-ups. There are two types of currency in the game: money (which you obtain from killing enemies or hidden around the stage) and "G" (which you obtain from playing every day, level-up, watching ads or just certain in-game events). Both currencies have the same use - weapons, items and upgrades. There is a pretty big variety of weapons in the game for you to use to slaughter the undead, ranging from a simple pistol, to chainsaws, machine-guns, shotguns explosives etc. Each weapon can also be upgraded for more damage, range, bullets etc., using the same currency you used to initially purchase it.

Regarding items, you have a decent selection, as well; small healing items, large medpacks, grenades, turrets, mines and a lot of other fancy stuff that will help you out in those tough situations. Character upgrades are a different deal though - instead of trough leveling, you have to purchase additional weapon/item slots, additional HP, health regeneration and better radar range. The good news is that there is another thing in the game to help you get the much needed cash for all this; gambling chips. You get a few each day you play, and you use them in the casino where you can earn, some money, an item or some G's. Another thing worth mentioning in this section is that this game has possibly the best controls of any FPS game on Android. They feel really responsive and intuitive. In my months of experience, I have never had a single issue with the game that was caused by poor controls.

This game was made in the Unity 3D engine. Those that are not familiar with it, this engine in particular is highly optimized for mobile devices, and can work on pretty much anything. I tried it on my old HTC Desire and it worked just fine. The game's graphics are really well made, models are very detailed and the game looks great! However, there is one fatal flaw; the highest graphic setting is exclusive to Tegra devices only, despite people proving that it can run on other devices, as well (such as the Galaxy S2). So if you want to experience it in the highest graphics, you'll have to do some config file hacking.

One of the first things you'll see in the game is that at least 60% of what you can buy in it is purchased with G's only. Before you run away, you should know that for each day you just start the game, you get free G's (first day you get 1, and it keeps adding 1 extra for every day in a roll you do it until the 5th day, after that it's 5 for ever consecutive day). So if you're a dedicated player, you can play and fully enjoy everything in the game without paying a cent! There is also the option to watch ads/install and open 3rd party apps from Google Play for some extra G's for the more impatient ones. I should also mention that there are no items in the game that force you to spend real money.

Overall, this might be one of the best games on Android. It's free, monetizing is fair and the game itself is really fun. If you haven't tried it by now, go ahead and do so, it's free!

Pros:
  • Top-tier graphics.
  • Playable on almost anything.
  • IAP exclusive items.
  • Five game modes to keep you entertained.
  • Online save file backup.
  • Awesome soundtrack.

Cons:
  • Single player mode only.
  • Highest graphic setting is exclusive to Tegra powered devices (can be enabled via config file changes, requires rooted device).

I can enable Extreme GFX.But I think it's because of the certain modded version that I use.I did update to 1.9.5 but then went back to 1.9.0 ; couldn't find a mod that gave me the best GFX setting.

In "Dead Trigger 2" I played purely out of curiosity, I don't have much love for zombies, but I still wanted to watch.
What was the first thing I liked and caught my eye that the graphics of the game are great! This was not long ago on computers, but here on the phone! Really super-duper graphics, just pleases the eyes.
