it's easy to root, ton of youtube vids or go to xda, samsungs are easiest with odin. why root ? better roms, get rid of bloatware etc.

KingRoot can be useful to gain root on unsupported devices then if you follow the guides to remove and replace KingRoot with SuperSU
This method works but I would only use this if you have a device that is unsupported by nomal rooting methods.

KingRoot was banned from XDA developers because they were not GPL compliant and refused to release source code on Github. My understanding was that KingRoot did in fact work. That being said, they are not allowed to publish on XDA for not following rules. You can make of that of what you will
