Works for me. Though I see what you mean. I just used the voice search on Gboard

Install yt music through Vanced manager, voice search is working fine in it.

Unfortunately i get the "please check your network connection "issue when signing in. Got microg, vanced, etc. all updated and got a network connection. Help pls.

I got the same alert, very frustrating. I had to open the list of synced accounts through my phone settings and remove the account linked to "vanced microG" (which listed the email I use for youtube).
Then I opened the "Vanced Manager" app and tapped on the settings icon next to "microG", which opened "Vanced microG Settings". I tapped the first option under "Google Services" which was "Account (add google account)". Then I selected "Sign In" and logged in to my Google account.
It's a process, for sure. But it was the only way I could open YT music without the 'check network connection' alert.

I've followed the instructions and even the advice by @yourshroom and no matter what it still shows as trial and asking me to sign up for premium.
It also doesn't download tracks.
