How did you upload image in comment?

...previous release was fixed to a Euro date format while this newer release has reverted back to the USA styled file date format!

Also settings can be backed up to a file so a complete reinstall to the newer release is rather painless...

No, don't know why, but the problem lies with ES File Explorer itself (even untouched). Other even deprecated Root Browser still work with new Magisk, so I guess the problem lies in the Root Check ES is using, maybe it tries to mount system as writeable? Only an idea.

ES File is NOT working with root fucthion in Masgisk. I thought something wrong at my end, but I tried Solid Explorer, it worked.
