Well 3 questions than (sorry for that but I don't know who else to ask):
1) Will the stable version run on Android 2.3?
2) If not, is there a way to crack it so that it could run? Of course, if the phone covers every other system requirements, except the software one (the OS)
3) Is GALAXY S finally getting or not Android 4 update?

1) I'm not working for Google, pal :D But I think there would be a stable version for Gingerbread coz most of Android users are using it.
2) No idea. It's not even that important ...
3) No, but instead Samsung rlsed a VALUE PACK for SGS.

I am using GalaxyS and it's being almost two months since I have being running the full ICS. It runs smoothly with hardly any lag.

Check out xda, there are versions like CM9 as well as onecosmic's ICS.

Gotta love people's questions.... can't they read the first post? It's for ICS only. The Beta is for ICS and rumor is the final release will replace the stock browser in ICS and above (but not below)

Works on my DHD (AOSP 4.0.3) & Moto XOOM (Rooted 4.0.3). Also tested on gingerbread 2.3.5, it doesn't work! (Can't be installed)

In an effort to stop posts about this working on Gingerbread let me explain how this works. With every new version of Android there are new features and code enhancements. For instance JIT in Froyo or face unlock in ICS. These new features rely on code libraries. Chrome uses libraries that need to be backported from ICS to older versions such as Gingerbread. So the only way to get this to work in 2.3 or lower is to backport a lot of libraries and code. Even for us hackers (I'm an XDA recognized developer) this is an extremely overwhelming task. Will it be done? Maybe. But with the number of code changes in ICS I'm going to go with most likely not.
