Book #1 - Fire of the Sorceress
After 850 years, you'd think I'd have cleaned this place up by now.
I didn't choose immortality. I had it foisted upon me by a trio of overambitious fellow sorceresses working a spell they didn't fully understand.
To prevent anything like that ritual from happening again, I've devoted my life to protecting the balance between magical and mundane.
After almost a millennium hunting monsters and keeping witches in line, the thrill is gone. My heart's not in it anymore, and my once-flourishing powers have begun to wane. Add in the recent strain of dealing with my ex, a servant of death who happens to be the force binding me to existence, and damn, do I need a vacation.
But when a blood mage with familiar ambitions begins gathering tools for a deadly ritual, I can't stand by and do nothing. Not when his success means a bloody history repeating itself.
To stop him, I'll need to dust off decades of apathy and appeal to the single surviving ally I haven't driven away, but first I need to access my full power. If I can remember how.
It's time for me to pull up my big sorceress panties and remind everyone who's boss.
Book #2 - Fear of the Sorceress
Well, hello The Past. I see you're trying to kill me again.
Every time I think I've left history behind me, it pounces like a great hulking wyvern. Or in this case, a fear demon.
The same fear demon that nearly had me burned alive eight hundred years ago before I sent it back to hell.
Now someone's summoned him back, and he's picking up right where he left off, wreaking havoc, inciting mobs, and threatening mass human casualties. And he's using a member of my chosen family to do it.
But I've learned a lot in the past few centuries, and if it means teaming up with my ex and dredging up every last morsel of my power, I’m determined to take him down–even if I have to sacrifice myself to do it.
If I do this right, the only thing the fear demon should be afraid of is me.
