Overview: Jonathan Harlen was born in New Zealand but now lives in coastal New South Wales, near Byron Bay, with his wife and three young children. He runs a small farm, where he grows coffee beans and cabinet timbers. He has published many books in various genres and for various age groups. They including the much-acclaimed young adult novel, The Lion and the Lamb, Fireflies (also for young adults), and The Cockroach War (for younger readers). Jonathan feels he has found his niche in writing comic novels for the 8-12 age group, and Brain Scam has been followed by several more in the same madcap vein.

Brain Scam
A funny, fast-paced story about a boy who infiltrates Kreeb's Correct-a-torium, a school for delinquent children, and rescues everyone from the evil Professor who runs it.
The scene: An abandoned monastery with seven floors of dungeons and underground passageways.
The cast: On one side - Professor Jocelyn Kreeb, child-hater; multiple henchmen with zappers; one fiendish invention, the Binoculator... And on the other - Toby Judge (OUR HERO) and family; a bunch of kids who need to be rescued from the gruesome punishments at Kreeb's Correct-a-torium.
