I renamed the file to gmapsupp.img and put it in the Garmin folder on the micro SD card but my Garmin Nuvi 2450 doesn't seem to recognize its there. Any suggestions? thanks

Nevermind - turns out it was a bad microsd card

It's been 3-4 years since I updated my maps.

There used to be a program where I could load the full North American file and then select only the provinces and states I want to upload to my older Garmin with limited space.

Does anyone recall what that software might be? I can't remember the name of it. This full map file is too big to fit and I need to adjust it a bit.

you can import this into garmin basecamp then that can send just what you want to your device.

that is what i remember.
