Interesting. I'm normally on forums that use VBulletin and you can directly upload images in your post.
I tried your suggestion and it worked fine in the "give me cheese" contest.

You can use images.mobilism.org as mentioned or imgur which is also good for hosting images. Look for the bbcode and you can copy and paste
