You can easily check yourself.

1)Download it. Don't install it.
2)Go to https://www.virustotal.com/
3)Click upload and choose the apk
4)It will show you previous checks on the APK by all the antivirus vendors and the last time checked
5) Click re-analyze and it will check again

If the results are all clean from all anti-virus, then it should be clean. Very rare for VT not to pickup something suspicious.

I have used this same version from a different source and I saw no ads despite all the videos I watched. So many 4k, HDR / FPS options to choose from with some videos, looks and plays awesome.

I notice when this starts it looks like identical to YouTube app does this mean it uses the YouTube app or can I delete that now?
