But this does not ensure that it is always the updated file, you can find an update function in the app itself.
Forgive my ignorance but where is the speedcam update function in the app?
Many thanks
O dear, i just installed version 20.7.6..And i see that that option is gone.
In version 18.8.6: the option is also gone, but when i go into
Settings>speedcams> it shows me the latest date when sygic downloaded the file, and it show the time i'm writing this text.
As far as i remember, i had version 18.7.x, and when i got into settings>speedcams> i could see wat was the latest date that sygic downloaded the file, and if i wanted to update.
Am i sure? no, not 100% anymore, because i switched back to tomtom NDS on my android.
And my mom has an galaxy S7 with sygic version 17.9.0 and why i'm still reading in this topic. And version 17.x.x does not have a speedcam section in the settings menu. It only has speedcams in the "notifications"section (i'm dutch, so it says meldingen, and translated means "notifications" not sure if thats true in the sygic menu.
So if you use sygic versions 18.x.x, you should be able to see at what date sygic downloaded the speedcam file. Also, when i delete the speedcam file, and start sygic again, it downloads the speedcam file again.
In sygic version 20.x.x i don't know, i guess sygic downloads/updates each time when on WIFI?
And i just did the same in 20.6.7 ARM 64 SDk version, deleted the speedcams, but sygic does not re-download the file. That sucks...BIG TIME..
What i do know, is that when i check the speedcams file via PC on my phone? and compare them with the file downloaded from "TMPeConsoleDownloader" mostly the file size differ.
so apologies from my side.
\edit:
I just tested something:
I deleted the speedcams from the 18.x.x version, and replaced it with the one from sept 2021TMPEconsoledownloader, that file is 3MB
Started the app, and it says, 4 okt, 23:39 <- and that's not right...should say sept.
Shut down the app, deleted the file again.
Started the app, and sygic downloaded the file, and this time the file is 4,75MB
Then i checked the speedcams.dat in 2021.08 and in 2021.09. Both the same, same size, same date!!
The speedcam file from TMPConsole is from sept 2018...
I have 4 android phones, and still most versions of sygic starting at 17.9.0 (older versions stopped working with newer android OS, or newer samsung galaxy S phones), if you're wondering how i tested this
